Special provision 284

An oxygen generator, chemical, containing oxidizing substances shall meet the following conditions: (a) The generator when containing an explosive actuating device shall only be carried under this entry when excluded from Class 1 in accordance with the note under paragraph 2.2.1.1.1 (b); (b) The generator, without its packaging, shall be capable of withstanding a 1.8 m drop test onto a rigid, nonresilient, flat and horizontal surface, in the position most likely to cause damage, without loss of its contents and without actuation; (c) When a generator is equipped with an actuating device, it shall have at least two positive means of preventing unintentional actuation.
