The transport unit shall be thoroughly inspected prior to loading. Before carriage, the carrier shall be informed: -about the operation of the refrigeration system, including a list of the suppliers of coolant available en route; -procedures to be followed in the event of loss of temperature control. In the case of temperature control in accordance with the methods described in 7.1.7.4.5 (b) or (d), a sufficient quantity of nonflammable refrigerant (e.g. liquid nitrogen or dry ice), including a reasonable margin for possible delays, shall be carried unless a means of replenishment is assured. Packages shall be so stowed as to be readily accessible. The specified control temperature shall be maintained during the whole transport operation, including loading and unloading, as well as any intermediate stops.
